私がこれから言おうとすることは、自分自身の子供のことでいろいろ思い悩んだ末に得られた結果である。それゆえ、それは、現実離れしたものでも、思弁的（理論倒れ）なものでもなく、私の結論に賛成であれ反対であれ（いずれであっても）、同様の悩みをもっている他の親たちの考えを明確にするのに役立つだろう、と思う。
