　戦争,虐殺,迫害は,すべて退屈からの逃避の一部（→逃避から生まれたもの）であ
　り,隣人とのけんかさえ,何もないよりはましだと感じられてきた。
　それゆえ退屈は,人類の罪の少なくとも半分は退屈を恐れることに起因しているこ
　とから,モラリスト（道徳家）にとってきわめて重要な問題である。
